Wow, I cannot believe you are already one! It feels like it has been a whirlwind of a year. Wasn’t it just yesterday that your siblings would stare at you and hold you for hours? Wait…they still do! There are daily battles over who gets to sit next to you at the dinner table or who gets to look at you in the car. John, you stole their hearts the moment they met you. I am forever grateful for the love and admiration you have for one another.
You have been a wonderful blessing to our family. Your presence has brought balance into our lives. You are the happiest, most laid back little man I have ever met. I cannot get enough of your smiles and baby giggles.
You have finally mastered the art of sleeping; enjoying 12-13 hours each night (hooray!). When you aren’t sleeping you are either trying to keep up with your siblings or eating. You sure do love to eat! I am pretty sure there isn’t a thing out there that you won’t eat…you love it all!
You love to play outside, crawl, sing, dance, laugh, and the wind. You love the feel of the wind. It is so funny to watch you when you come across a fan. You are just all smiles! Now that you are a year old you can wave, crawl, clap, throw, climb stairs, and squeal. Yes, unfortunately for us, your big brother taught you how to squeal. He thought it was hilarious when you would mimic him. And now you cannot stop. You can reach octaves I never knew existed. Your favorite toys are balls (you love to throw balls), cars, and the dollhouse (or more specifically the items inside the dollhouse particular the people). You can say mama, dada, hi, and more. You have mastered the “army” crawl and love to explore…seeking out stairs is one of your favorite pastimes.
We did it! We survived the first year together. I cannot wait to share many, many more birthdays with you. Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives. Happy Birthday little one. I love you!
