Well, John, your second birthday has come and gone now, but I still want to write your birthday letter for posterity sake. In case you haven’t figured it out yet…welcome to the world of being number 4.
How is it possible that you are two? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were anxiously waiting to see if we would be adding another girl or boy to the family. You have been the perfect addition to our clan. Your laid back, go with the flow attitude is the perfect complement to the normal daily chaos in our home.
You have changed so much from age one to two. You have graduated from sleeping in my closet to sharing a room with your big brother. You started walking (finally!) which meant you were able to start school. You love the few hours a day you spend with Ms. Annie, Ms. Ely, and your friends at school. You always tell me what Lola, the class rabbit, ate during the day. You enjoy having “nack” (snack) with your class.
Your siblings baby you all day long and you love it. They read to you, play with you, hold your hand, carry you, and snuggle you. Spending time with your sisters and brother is one of your favorite things to do. You love to sing (especially “Twinkle, Twinkle” and “ABCs”). You are always bringing me a book and asking telling me “read it” as you climb in my lap.
You can’t wait to go outside every day. You like to play baseball and basketball. You like to run races with your sister. And you love it when your siblings push you around the driveway in a stroller or push car. You like to keep up with the big kids and because of that you often get pushed around a bit…but you are tough.
Your favorite foods are pizza, bananas, oranges, cheese, apples, and gummy snacks. You love puppies and you adore Paw Patrol. You like to act silly and make people laugh. You love to snuggle and cuddle. You like to swim; especially when you get to jump off the side of the pool.
You are happy. And that makes my heart smile. Happy birthday sweet boy!
I love you,
