Today you are six. I cannot believe you are already six. It seems like just yesterday I was busy preparing for your arrival. I was in no way prepared for how much joy, love, gratitude, spontaneity, and sunshine you would bring into my life. Like I have said before, your first breath took mine away.
You have grown into a beautiful little girl. Although I miss your cute chubby baby cheeks and seeing you toddle around I really love seeing the magnificent person you are becoming. You are a the best big sister your siblings could ask for; you are always there to guide them and support them. You are tremendously helpful to Mommy and Daddy; always eager to help with a task.
You love to play outside; riding your bike, climbing trees, and playing rescue with your siblings. Many days the first thing you want to do when you get home from school is run upstairs to put on your fire gear so you are ready for an emergency. I love watching you use your imagination to create the supplies all firefighters need like oxygen tanks & harnesses.
At school you love to work on math activities. Some of your favorite lessons include the thousand chain, the stamp game, and the addition snake game. You are reading now! You love to read books with Mommy & Daddy and you have recently started to read to your siblings too. You enjoy writing lists, numbers, math problems, and nature studies.
You are a sweet, caring, nurturing little girl. You have a tremendous amount of patience. Daddy and I sat backed amazed as we watched you patiently teach Malcolm how to pedal his bike…a task we had attempted numerous times that resulted in frustration by all. Yet, you calmly continued to guide him through the pedaling motion over and over. When he became tired and upset due to his frustration you gave him the space to have a break and when he decided he wanted to try again you were there by his side encouraging him every turn of the pedal. In less than a week you had him pedaling on his own and were his biggest cheerleader the whole time. It was pure joy to witness.
You want to be a firefighter when you grow up. Your favorite color is blue. Your favorite foods are cheese hamburgers, strawberries, black bean soup, and chocolate. You love to play soccer and baseball. You love to go to the dentist! You love to travel, especially to the beach.
Happy birthday my dear, sweet Alexandra. May life be filled with lots of love and many blessings. I love you!
