Online Therapy in Texas
Therapy that’s convenient!
Online therapy has many names: Telehealth, e-therapy, distance counseling and virtual counseling. Online therapy makes mental health care more accessible and convenient for our busy lives.
Our sessions will be conducted via a secure video portal. All you need is a strong internet connection and some privacy. Online therapy allows you the flexibility to get the support you need at your convenience.
No need to stress about your childcare falling through, car trouble or being sick. Online therapy affords you the ability to receive counseling from home, work or anywhere.
Offering therapy online also allows me to expand my reach as a therapist.
I can work with anyone who is physically located in the state of Texas at the time of our session.
Online Therapy FAQs
-
My online counseling platform uses secure video conferencing to enable face-to-face conversations. The video call is completely secure (HIPAA-protected) and confidential, and nothing is recorded or kept in any way. When you schedule an appointment, I will send you a private, secure link via email, enabling you (and only you) to connect by video at the time of your appointment. The video platform is also available on an app so you can use your tablet or smartphone to connect.
All you need is:
-Internet connection (with enough bandwidth to support a video conference call)
-A computer, tablet, or smartphone
-A quiet, private, and well-lit space with no distractions
-A set of headphones or earbuds (the ones that come with smartphones are usually just fine)

Anyone who resides in Texas or will be physically located in Texas for the duration of therapy. Mental Health Clinicians can only provide therapy services to individuals in the state in which they are licensed.
Online counseling can be used for assessment, as a supplement to in-person therapy, for ongoing therapy, or used occasionally as needed. For example, if you’re currently working with me in my office but suddenly face a life situation that prevents you from travel, online counseling can be a perfect way to continue meeting, even though you can’t make it to the office.

If your lack of technology skills makes you feel reluctant to try this type of therapy, I encourage you to try it anyway! I have many clients who aren't confident in their computer skills who use the service with few problems. Also, the video conferencing platform has customer service representatives who can walk you through any problems that may come up. They also provide test calls to make sure everything is working correctly.

Online counseling has been shown to be very effective for people in all different kinds of life situations. This is why many insurance plans have chosen to include telemedicine/telehealth as part of their standard coverage.
Whether you are seeking help for anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, or anything else, online therapy can be a practical, effective solution.

The majority of health insurers now cover telehealth as part of their standard mental health benefit. You'll want to call your health insurance company to find out how much your out-of-pocket costs will be.
